Revalidation
Revalidation is the process of regulation whereby all doctors will be required to demonstrate that they remain up to date and fit to practise. 360 degree / multi-source feedback (MSF) from patients and colleagues, in addition to a self assessment, will be a component of the revalidation process which aims to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of patient care.
As an approved supplier to the General Medical Council, we have been working with our research partner Peninsula Medical School to investigate the properties and potential of the GMC’s patient and colleague questionnaires for possible use in revalidation.
In addition to being the only current provider of the existing GMC MSF tool, our own well validated patient and colleague questionnaire MSF tool (CFEP360) is currently being used by doctors in both primary and secondary care settings throughout the UK and has recently been identitied as fit for purpose for revalidation by the RCGP.
We understand the challenges that can arise in gaining MSF feedback and have therefore fine tuned our methods and guidance to not only facilitate the process but to illustrate feedback in a sensitive yet informative format.
