Out Of Hours Surveys

Dr David Colin-Thomé’s (National Director for Primary Care, Department of Health) and Prof Steve Field’s (Chairman of Council, Royal College of GPs) recent report on Out of Hours care in England says that ‘a more effective oversight of Out of Hours care is necessary to reduce variations in standards of care’.

Listening to patients’ concerns is one of the key ways to obtain this oversight. Our Out of Hours Patient Questionnaire (OPQ) has been completed by more than 20,000 patients for 38 Providers nationally yielding useful data and benchmarks. OPQ was developed in partnership with the Peninsula Medical School and Manchester University and is an in-depth survey about important aspects of care experienced within the Out of Hours service and includes specific details of home visits, treatment centres and telephone advice.

Not only does OPQ cover areas outlined in the National Quality Requirements in the Delivery of Out of Hours Services (July 2006); Quality requirement 5, it can also enable feedback on the performance of individual clinicians.

In recognition of our experience in working with Out of Hours providers in gathering patient feedback, CFEP are the chosen survey partner of the Primary Care Foundation to provide the Patient Experience questionnaires and analysis component of their Benchmark exercise.

Whether you need patient satisfaction surveys, multi-source feedback or interpersonal skills questionnaires, to name but a few, please choose a survey type from the left of this page and discover what else we have to offer.
