Friends and Family Test
The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) questionnaire has been updated in line with the new NHS guidelines launched in April 2020. Its purpose is to provide all patients the opportunity to give feedback about their overall experience of their practice. It is suitable for organisations such as Primary Care Networks, GP practices, dental practices and NHS Trusts.
CFEP manage and administer the FFT process with our hallmark rigour and attention to detail.
The Friends and Family Test:
- Meets the NHS England requirement to gather patient feedback
- Is managed by CFEP to simplify the process and minimise your need to be involved in the administration of the questionnaires
- Incorporates supportive processes throughout, managed by CFEP’s highly experienced and dedicated team of professionals

Alternative survey products
For practices, we recommend the CFEP Improving Practice Survey which is an end-to-end patient experience survey providing feedback on all aspects of your service at an organisational level. This can also be combined with individual clinicians’ multisource feedback and a self-assessment tool depending on your needs.
We recommend the CFEP360 Patient and Colleague Survey as the complete multisource feedback tool for healthcare professionals. This survey combines the CFEP’s industry benchmark Interpersonal Skills Survey for patient feedback – it was used as the source validation for the GMC Questionnaire – with a colleague feedback evaluation tool and self-assessment questionnaire.
There are many options available to you when it comes to choosing a feedback process for your organisation. Please get in touch if you have questions related to practice, patient and colleague surveys.
